Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist
Bethann McIntosh was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised by hard working, loving parents. At age 21, Bethann lost her mom to cancer. Becoming an adult, getting married and having children without her mom by her side made for difficult times. At age 32, Bethann was married with a 6 years old and 16 month old daughter, when her husband suddenly passed away in the Line of Duty. Raising 2 children, while taking on a fight against Washington D.C. to change a law for First Responders, Bethann put her grief aside for 3 years.
As her husbands 10 year anniversary approached, Bethann began telling stories of her life with Dan as well as life since his passing .
Her intent was to help others see it is possible to find happiness without losing the memories of your loved one. She was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method and knew this was the missing piece to her puzzle. Teaching grievers how to heal their hearts and find happiness again, as well as seeing the smiles behind the tears, makes the suffering she has experienced easier to accept.
Bethann is the Founder of Journey of the Heart, LLC and became a Grief Recovery Specialist in 2020.
While grieving a loss is an inevitable part of life, there are ways to help cope with the pain, come to terms with your grief, and eventually, find a way to pick up the pieces and move on with your life.
Although grief is described in phases or stages, it may feel more like a roller coaster, with ups and downs. This can make it hard for the bereaved person to feel any sense of progress in dealing with the loss. A person may feel better for a while, only to become sad again. Sometimes, people wonder how long the grieving process will last, and when they can expect some relief.
Don't let your life pass you by,weep not for the memories
